The origin of Schnekingese will take you back in history when Miniature Schnauzer and the Pekingese met each other. The Miniature Schnauzer is a German breed that originated in Germany in 1400 century. At that time, the miniature was a breed used for hunting, killing rats and other vermins. This non-shedding breed is of three sizes (giant, standard, and small). This popular hunter got recognition by the American Kennel Club in 1926 after coming to North America. The Pekingese is an origination of China found in the 8th century. Being the feisty and independent canine, this breed got recognition by the American Kennel Club in 1906.

Maintenance


Schnekingese is a mixed breed that requires low to moderate maintenance. He derives his coat from Miniature Schnauzer that may or may not turn to be hypoallergenic. Schnekingese can obtain long fur from Pekingese or short one from Schnauzer. He requires brushing depending upon the thickness and length of the hair. The shorter coat needs brushing once or twice a week while longer ones require brushing daily. Proper brushing removes the debris, loose hairs, tangles, and mats and allows the oil to spread all over the coat. Bathing is also necessary for these canine but with a gap not at regular intervals to avoid dry hair. Proper care is must for the ears, and therefore, it is important to clean it and wash it with ear wash solution. Properly trim the nails and brush the teeth of your canine two to three times every week and if you can do it every day.
