(Chihuahua and Japanese Chin mix) The Chin-wa is a toy dog. His coat may be long or short. He will shed. He is a adorable little guy, but can be difficult to train. He will get quite attached to his family and tends to suffer with separation anxiety when left on his own too much.

The Chin-Wa is an intelligent breed that loves to please. It is quick to learn new tricks and enjoys being surrounded by people. It does well with children and in families. It may get enough exercise just running around the house but may require daily leash walks.

History


Since the Chin-wa is a hybrid dog, his history isn\'t yet well established. His parent the Chihuahua has a few different theories on where he originated, but was found in Chihuahua, Mexico. The Japanese Chin is believed to have originated in Imperial China.

Maintenance


Regular brushing will be necessary to help alleviate shedding. Oral hygiene on a regular basis is very important especially so with a small dog.

Ideal Environment


The Chin-wa doesn\'t require lots of exercise, so he would be a good candidate for apartment dwelling. He will do well with lots of toys for mental stimulation and play. Short walks will satisfy his needs for exercise and socialization.
